Operating Results
On this website we often use the term operating results. When we do this, we may or may not be referring to financial quantities such as revenue or net profit.
For example, when writing about process improvements in a software engineering group, the term "operating results" almost certainly means non-financial results. In this case, "operating results" might be defined as the rate at which new products are developed, or the number of defects fixed per month.
On the other hand, when writing about a business as a whole, the term "operating results" may very well refer to financial quantities.
Hopefully, our use of the term will be clear from context.
